Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. - Romans 8:1
One of the criminals who were hanged there was hurling abuse at Him, saying, "Are You not the Christ? Save Yourself and us! But the other answered, and rebuking him said, "Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? And we indeed are suffering justly, for we are receiving what we deserve for our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong. - Luke 23:39-41
To understand Romans 8:1, I need to explain Luke 23:39-41
The key word here is condemnation. What does it mean? All people on earth regardless of creed and belief are all under condemnation, reason "for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” We are all in a position of eternal separation from God. The thief understands this when he said that he is suffering justly [death on a cross] for he is receiving what he deserves.
Yet God said, to them that believe He gave them the right to become children of God - John 1:12
When you are in Christ Jesus, it means you believe that He died on the cross for you and paid the penalty of your sins. Instead of you being crucified, He died on your behalf. If you believe and receive the gift of salvation, you become part of Jesus Christ; so instead of receiving condemnation - you become free from condemnation [from eternal separation from God]. He came to set us free from condemnation - set us free from the penalty of sin, set us free from the power of sin and set us free from the presence of sin. The gift of eternal life is freeeeeeeeeeee. Jesus already paid the full price.
Not only did He die on our behalf, He also came that we might have life and that we might have it more abundantly - John 10:10
The abundant life that He offers is more precious than all the goods that this world can offer. Only believe all things are possible, only believe.
Have a blessed day!
