Teach me, O LORD, the way of Your statutes, And I shall observe it to the end. Give me understanding, that I may observe Your law And keep it with all my heart. Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, For I delight in it. ~ Psalm 119:33-35
Teach me good discernment and knowledge, For I believe in Your commandments. ~ Psalm 119:66
Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God; Let Your good Spirit lead me on level ground. ~ Psalm 143:66
Teach what a wonderful word. We cannot exhaust learning. We were taught from the day we were born, though we were not conscious of it at that time. There is so much to learn when we are ready to be taught. When it comes to the Scriptures, God alone can teach us for He is the author.
Here are some ways we can ask God:
Teach me the way of Your statutes, so we can observe it [God's way and not our way];
Give me understanding, reason - so we can keep and observe God's laws [We need to understand the Word from God's point of view, not our own];
Make me walk in the paths of Your commandments, reason - to delight in God's word [God alone can 'make' us];
Teach me good discernment and knowledge, reason - for we believe in His commandments [need to discern good from evil, even between good or better or best];
Teach me to do Your Will, reason - for He is our God [He alone can guide us to live according to His Will];
Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground. [The Holy Spirit is our power to live the way He wants us to live].
So we have a lot to pray and discuss with God, isn't it?
Have a nice day!
