For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps, WHO COMMITTED NO SIN, NOR WAS ANY DECEIT FOUND IN HIS MOUTH; and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously; and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. ~ 1 Peter 2:21-24

Most people have seen the movie, 'Passion of Christ.' By people's standard the movie was violent because Christ was subjected to a grueling hardship, pain and ultimately detah, but have we wondered why He endured it all. Jesus Christ has a purpose in coming down here on earth - He was the one who bore our sins in His body on the cross; for by His wounds we were healed.

Two things were mentioned:

1) To pay for the penalty of our sins;

2) by His stripes we were healed. He saved us from eternal damnation [eternal death] and healed our broken soul and body as well.

Our life has a purpose too. We can discover that by praying and asking God's will and purpose for our life. For He said, 'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and future. ~ Jeremiah 29:11

Let's seek God's purpose in our lives today and everyday of our lives!

Have a blessed day!
