Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth. ~ Proverbs 27:1
Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make profit." Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and just vanishes away. Instead, you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that." ~ James 4:13-15
And He told them a parable, saying, “The land of a rich man was very productive. And he began thinking to himself, saying, ‘What shall I do, since I have no place to store my crops?’ And he said, ‘This is what I will do: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and I will store all my grain and my goods there. And I will say to myself, “You have many goods stored up for many years to come; relax, eat, drink, and enjoy yourself!”’ But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night our soul is demanded of you; and as for all that you have prepared, who will own it now?’ Such is the one who stores up treasure for himself, and is not rich in relation to God.” ~ Luke 12:16-21

Tomorrow is a word we often use. But do you know that tomorrow never come! You disagree? For the tomorrow you say becomes today. Tomorrow belongs to God alone. He gave us one day at a time.

We neither can boast about tomorrow because even our today we would not fully know. Our life is compared to vapor, a mist which vanishes away. All our labor may be in vain if the Lord is not in it. Just like the parable that Jesus taught. He was rich in worldly goods but not rich in God. He thought he could live a long time to enjoy what he worked hard for but God already required his life, so who will benefit his wealth. He himself was not able to enjoy it.

What do we do? Live one day at a time. Offer ourselves as a living sacrifice to God, offer our talents and abilities, and offer our triumphs and successes to Him. Surely more things will He pour out on us.

Have a blessed, God-filled weekend with family and friends!
