Burden

Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest, take my yoke upon you and learn of me for I am gentle and humble and you will find rest for your souls for my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30 

Is there anything too hard for you to bear? Is there something in your heart that bothers you? The Lord Jesus made an example out of a yoke. A yoke is used on working animals as the farmer plows the field. In Old Testament times, there will be several beasts of burden, maybe three sets of them being handled by a single farm worker. The idea Jesus draws is that two people walking together in one yoke makes it easier rather than carrying your own yoke. Jesus invites us to come along with Him. Don't carry your yoke alone but join yourself with Jesus. Life becomes easier and comfortable because you have a companion alongside with you to keep you, to help you, to support you, and encourage you. Actually Jesus is an expert in handling life, handling difficulties, trials, tribulation, and sickness. Nothing is too difficult for Him. Jesus will come alongside with you if you will invite Him. He will never turn you down. Jesus will be more than willing to travel along life's pathway because He knows, He understands and He cares. He will give you rest, you will experience His gentleness, His humility and you will find that life is not a burden to bear but a life to enjoy.
