Then the LORD passes by in front of him and proclaimed, "The LORD, the LORD God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth; Exodus 34:6

The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness. Psalm 103:8

The LORD is gracious and merciful; slow to anger and great in lovingkindness.

The LORD is good to all, and his mercies over all His works. Psalm 145:8-9

The LORD is righteous in all His ways and kind in all His deeds. Psalm 145:17

God revealed himself to Moses in Exodus 34:6 as compassionate, gracious, slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness and truth. In the Book of Psalms, over and over again, it is repeated that God is compassionate, gracious, slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness. We should be glad that God's character is excellent. This is the God who created us and has made us into His likeness. Since he revealed himself to us, this is what He expects from us as well. We, His creation [man] need to be compassionate, gracious, slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness and truth.

We cannot reason out that if others have been cruel to us, does not want to listen to us, we are not respected, we are not accepted and all sorts of personal and relational difficulties - does not exempt us from acting negatively toward others. Jesus taught, You have heard that it was said, 'You SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR and hate your enemy. But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the righteous and the unrighteous. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? If you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Matthew 5:43-48

You can probably say, you tell that to my neighbor (a neighbor is anyone outside of yourself] so that he will do the same to me. No, God is saying it to you and me. We are the one who need to change. God will take care of others, we need to change first and then we will realize how easy it is to follow the way of the Lord.

It is my prayer that our hearts will be softened by God's word and our minds will change with regard to our relationship with God and our fellowmen. Let us cultivate God's character in our lives. Pray and ask God to give us His character and most gladly He will change us.

Have a peaceful day!
