Grace Upon Grace

And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. John testified about Him and cried out, saying "This was He of whom I said, 'He who comes after me has a higher rank than I, for He existed before me." For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace. For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him. John 1:14-18

And working together with Him, we urge you not to receive the grace of God in vain - for He says, "AT THE ACCEPTABLE TIME I LISTENED TO YOU; AND ON THE DAY OF SALVATION I HELPED YOU." Behold, now is "THE ACCEPTABLE TIME," behold, now is "THE DAY OF SALVATION" - 2 Corinthians 6:1, 2

The Law came in so that the transgression would increase; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, so that, as sin reigned in death, even so grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 5:20

Grace, what does it mean? Grace means unmerited favor. When Jesus came down personally here on earth to minister to us, He brought with Him grace, the unmerited favor of God. Even if we do not deserve such love and compassion from Him since we literally walked out on Him before, yet because He loves us, He came down as an ordinary human person [setting aside His glory] so that He can save us from our sins. He, Jesus, paid the penalty of sin, which is death; and the power, and presence of sin in our lives. NOW THAT IS REAL FAVOR!

Our hearts must melt in God's offer of grace. We really are in a dilemma, if we reject this offer of unmerited favor. There will be no one who will offer us greater grace than what our Creator offers us. Imagine his humility to come down as the Son of Man! Throughout history, what He did is matchless. No one can do what He did, not only did He die in our behalf as the perfect lamb of God, but He rose again from the dead to make us realize that what He said is true, 'I am the resurrection and the Life

If we say we are good enough on our own, our goodness cannot save us! We may say, 'I have my own way to heaven,' there is no other way my friend except the One who paved the way. He alone can give us a place in eternity with Him. If man can do it by himself, why would He still need to come down here on earth? It would not be wise to do so if He is 'All Intelligent,' but because that is the ONLY WAY, He has to come for our sake and to take us out of our mess and give us a brand new life.

Now is the day of grace in our lives, and let us accept this unmerited favor offered to us! Let us rejoice that God has offered us His grace!

Have a nice day!
