Know therefore today, and take it to your heart, that the LORD, He is God in heaven above and on the earth below; there is no other. So you shall keep His statutes and His commandments which I am giving you today, that it may go well with you and with your children after you, and that you may live long on the land which the LORD your God is giving you for all time.” Deuteronomy 4:39, 40

“Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one! You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. Deuteronomy 6:4-9

True prosperity is not measured by how much salary we receive, our social standing, our sphere of influence, our education, our accomplishment, our power, or our authority. No matter how much an employer may try to give to employees,' by way of salary increases, housing allowances, timings, other benefits, job-holding people from all walks of life will still complain. What is the secret of true prosperity? It is not in the amount of our pay check, real property, possessions, jewelries, health or the like that we may consider ourselves prosperous.

Prosperity is to abide and obey God in everything that we do. Instead of us complaining for what we deserve, we better thank God for what we have right now. To counter our complain is to be thankful and grateful for all the things God has given us. We sometimes become short-sighted with the previous blessings that we fail to see and acknowledge with thanks all that we enjoy today. Every person is undeserving of God's bounty but because He created us and loves us, we became recipient of His riches and mercy. Everything on earth is temporary, but what God gives is eternal.

The word of God declares that we must love God over and above everything, plant His words in our hearts; then teach God's word diligently to our children when we sit together, walk by the way, when we lie down or before we sleep and when we rise up. We are even encouraged to write God's word on our doorposts and our gates. He promised that it will be well with us and our children and our grandchildren and our generation and live long.

Hurray for God's ways of true prosperity!
