Behold, My Servant, whom I uphold; My chosen one whom My soul delights. 1 have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the nations. He will not cry out or raise His voice, nor make His voice heard in the street. A bruised reed He will not break and a dimly burning wick He will not extinguish; He will faithfully bring forth justice. He will not be disheartened or crushed until He has established justice in the earth; and the coastlands will wait expectantly for His law." Thus says God the LORD, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread out the earth and its offspring, Who gives breath to the people on it and spirit to those who walk in it, I am the LORD, I have called You in righteousness, I will also hold You by the hand and watch over You, and I will appoint You as a covenant to the people, as a light to the nations, to open blind eyes, to bring out prisoners from the dungeon and those who dwell in darkness from the prison. Isaiah 42:1-7
Here is God Himself speaking through the prophet Isaiah, more than 700 years before the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ. God called Jesus His 'Servant. Jesus said that Himself, 'I came to serve and not to be served.' Jesus was chosen, that is why He was called 'Christ' meaning the 'Anointed One.' Jesus was full of the power of the Holy Spirit. That's right Jesus will bring forth justice to nations [this portion of Scripture is partial during His 'First Coming' and will be completed during the "Second Coming]. He will not cry out or raise His voice... when Jesus came to earth [First Coming]. He was a son of a carpenter, He came in a humble manner, not a king or a military ruler. Jesus was called 'Righteousness' for He alone can cloth us in righteousness. God has upheld Jesus and watched over Him and appointed Him as a 'Covenant' to the people. Jesus is the Light, Jesus opened the eyes of the blind [both physical and spiritual]. He will set people free from any bondage which He did, He will bring people out of darkness into His marvelous light.
You might ask, What is meant by 'First Coming? Second Coming? The 'First Coming' means Jesus came as a Servant, a Savior, who died on the cross of Calvary to deliver us from Satan and return us back to God's kingdom. The 'Second Coming' means Jesus will come again, this time not as a humble 'Servant but a 'Conqueror. The Second Coming will bring about a new order in the earth and ultimately all those who rejected Him will be judged. Please take note, Jesus can either be your Savior or your Judge. Man can chose which side he/she would like to be. Is Jesus your Lord or your Judge?
Have a blessed day!
