Signs of Times

And Jesus answered and said to them, "See to it that no one misleads you. many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will mislead many. You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs. Matthew 24:4-8

This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come. Matthew 24:14

You might be wondering what's happening around the world... is there anything written about it. Yes! When Jesus was here more than two thousand years ago, He said what will happen in the future.

Today....fighting is all around the world. Earthquakes and famines are familiar. In one area there's too much water [flood] and in another area there is no water [drought]. Jesus said with all these things going on, we need not be afraid. He said that these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs. There will be something that the whole world will undergo as Jesus prepares to come back. He said that what will trigger His coming is that the gospel [too good to be true news] shall be preached to all the nations and then the end will come.

If Jesus is coming why is he tarrying... But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day. The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. II Peter 3:8-9

That is the answer - Jesus is patient, giving as much time as possible for people everywhere to repent of their sins, turn from their wicked ways and walk toward God in righteousness and holiness. There is still time... Today if you hear His voice harden not your hearts. Realize that God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your lives.
